Born July 1^st 1980 in Oporto, Cristina Rodrigues’ an artist and architect that bases of her studies in Architecture, Medieval, Renaissance and Contemporary Art to create works of art that combine the modern with the traditional in an amazing way.

And it was that aesthetic angle that she showed as she collaborated with Fly London and presented us with the Interstellar boots. Like the brand’s founding partner, Amílcar Monteiro, stated, Cristina “introduced certain traditionalism to the design, at the same time as included unexpected elements such as the satin ribbons as replacements for the shoelaces, as well as the big gold eyelets, which made the final result a boot that proudly displays Fly London’s genetic code”. This collaboration also ended up inspiring her to create the art installation “Urban Dwellers”, showed October 2016 in Seville.

As mentioned before, what stands out in these Interstellar boots are their satin ribbons that replace the traditional shoelaces. In addition to their material, their gold colour and width also ensure that they’re truly a highlight! But that’s not all! Each pair also comes with extra ribbons in the colour of the boot, in case you want a more discreet look. And if you notice the top, you’ll see a gold logo that combines the brand’s and the artist’s images in a very lovely way.
