4 ways to reuse your shoes

Give them a new lease of life!

Many of us love shoes! You just can’t help it when the new collections arrive. Buy a new pair here, another pair there and we end up forgetting many others that stay collecting dust inside our wardrobe, isn’t that right? So, why not reusing those shoes and give them a brand-new look according to your preferences? If the shoes are not all that worn out, it’s possible to refurbish them at home with materials that surely you already have! But are you out of ideas? Don’t you worry because today on the EscapeShoes blog post we’ll give you 4 perfect ideas to renovate your shoes! Shall we?

1-Cover with fabric or pieces of lace

This is one of the ideas that will completely change the colour and the texture of your shoes. Imagine a pair of sandals in a colour that you don’t identify yourself with. You just need a bit of fabric glue and a fabric that you like, and voilá! However, if you like the colour but believe that they’re very simple shoes, add a lace ribbon around them or a bit of lace on the heel and done, you just gave a more interesting look to a boring pair of shoes!

2-Paint the toecap, sole or both

This one already entails a little bit more focus, because if you measure things wrong and don’t take the needed precautions, you’re in danger of ending up with the shoes utterly smeared. For this project you’ll need a pair of shoes or flats, duct tape, tracing paper and ink or suitable spray paint. Clean the base where you’ll apply the paint well, draw on the tracing paper the drawing that you want and cut it. Then, just glue it while also protecting the rest of the shoes and you can paint! You’ll love the final result! You can also go with painting just the sole or both completely! It’s entirely up to you!

3-Add details

This one works almost like the lace that we mentioned on our first idea and consists of a small bead necklace, shiny stones and bigger ornaments on your shoes. You can glue them on the heel itself or on the side, for example. Just have fun while you’re renovating your old shoes!

4-Glitter

This one for me is the most fun and also the easiest! You just need to apply glue around the whole shoes you’ve chosen and covered them with glitter! This way you’ll be able to have those shiny high heels that you’ve dreamed about at a very low cost!
