Valentine’s Day Gifts

Make this day even more romantic!

Are you one of those people that love to do romantic gestures and surprise your better-half? If that’s the case, then you must love Valentine’s Day, because it’s the best time of the year to do your biggest romantic gesture so far! What do you usually do? Do you do something small, but very sweet and intimate? Or do you do something more spectacular and loud? Either way, the most important thing is that you’re able to convey the love that you feel for your Valentine, so today on the EscapeShoes blog we’ll show you some original, creative and, of course, romantic ideas to surprise your better-half and to make this Valentine’s Day an unforgettable day!

Surprise love notes

This idea’s very simple, but will surely put a smile on your Valentine’s face all day long! Write small notes with reasons why that person is the love of your life and spread them throughout the house: inside the coffeemaker, glued to the bathroom’s mirror, inside the shoes, inside the wallet… Just make sure that they’re places where beyond any shadow of a doubt they’ll be found. And if both of you are fans of games, you can also write clues and spread them around the house, so that your Valentine can find the big surprise at the end. It’ll be as much fun for your better-half as it’ll be for you!

Heart-shaped paperclips

This idea’s also very simple, but perfect if the love of your life is a fan of reading. Get some red or pink paperclips, and bend them in order to obtain a heart shape. To do so, just bend the paperclip in the middle so that the tip is diagonal and pointing downwards. Next, place those paperclips in the book that your Valentine’s reading or the newspaper that they ready every day, holding a lovely note written by you. It’ll make their heart beat even louder for you!

Lovely beer and wine labels

Does your Valentine love to drink beer or wine? Then, this idea’s perfect for you! With paper and/or card, create your labels and glue them to your better-half’s favourite bottles. Either by hand or with the help of a computer, write small love messages with wordplays involving the word “beer” or “wine”, glue them to the bottles and decorate them with the adornments that you believe are the most suitable. This is fun for whoever does these labels and also fun for whoever drinks the bottle!

Clothespin with a love message

How about offering a clothespin to your Valentine? Doesn’t seem very romantic, does it? Well, there’s where you’re wrong! We’ll show you how to transform a basic hanging tool into a lovely gift! Write a small sweet message in a piece of paper small enough to fit between the clothespin’s teeth when it’s open, and fold this paper into a “M” shape and glue it between the teeth, so that the message is hidden when the clothespin’s closed and visible when it’s open. With another small piece of paper, draw an envelope and cut it in half. Glue one half to the top teeth and the other half to the bottom teeth to thus hide the message. Then, write on the other side of the clothespin something like “You have a message” or, if you’re a fan of films, “You’ve Got Mail”, and… done! With this idea, you’ll surely surprise your better-half!

A kiss in your pocket

Our last idea comes from the “Color Me Katie” blog and it’s absolutely cute! Is your better-half always asking you for a goodnight’s kiss? Or do they usually blow you kisses when you’re on the train? If so, this is the perfect Valentine’s Day gift idea for you! First, take a picture of yourself blowing a kiss and then print it into small sheets and, with a red marker, draw one heart on the first picture, two hearts on the next picture and so on. Punch holes on the pictures and tie them in order with a ribbon and… poof… you’ve a flip book of you blowing a kiss to your Valentine, who can always keep in their pocket, in case they ever need some encouragement. Just see how it looks on the following video:
