Vans Slip-On Sneakers – 2016 Collection

Have you guessed who’s back! Not only is Vans back with its new spring / summer collection, but also brought with it a few models that continue one of the most stand out trends of this season, slip-on sneakers. You don’t know which models are these? Well, in that case, you’re in luck, because today the EscapeShoes blog will be dedicated to this trend, featuring Vans shoes. Read this post and be completely surrendered!

The slip-on sneakers trend continues this season and Vans brought us with its spring / summer collection models with new colours, patterns and details that reinvent what slip-on shoes can truly be. And on today’s post, we’ll see some of these models that are already at EscapeShoes.

However, before going to the models themselves, do you know what slip-on sneakers are? Even if you don’t know, surely you’ve seen people on the street wearing this type of shoes. We’ve already talked previously about this subject on another post about Vans Slip-On shoes, but these sneakers mainly characterize for not having shoelaces, but even so being very easy to put on. This is due to the fact that they’ve elastic accents on each side of the instep that adjust perfectly to your foot and to your walk, thus allowing each step of yours.

And a brand that likes to bet on this type of sneakers is Vans, the brand known for its urban and modern shoes, and in this 2016 collection it included these models again, but with interesting changes and unique details. Do you want to see them? In that case, let’s not waste any more time and show you right now the new Slip-On Vans 2016!

Different textiles

The typical Vans slip-on shoes are made of canvas, in the same way as its customary sneakers, but with two small elastic accents, one on each side. However, this year the brand created models made of other types of textile fabric that are equally malleable and nice to the touch. Like these two that we show you below:

The Stripes Chambray Grey sneakers are made of a light fabric called chambray, with a texture similar to linen. As you can see, they’ve a very discreet light shade of grey that matches with several colours. Besides, they’re finished with canvas in an almost identical grey colour, and their elastic and soles are in white, thus keeping the light-coloured shade of the shoes. Surely they’ll look great with your favourite denim clothes!

On the other hand, the Classic Stripes Balsam are made of a striped fabric, but instead of these stripes being printed on the fabric itself as it’s common nowadays, they’re stitched to it with thin and colourful threads, thus creating a fun and even slightly rustic pattern, with a little bit of texture. Honestly, this is one of my favourite models this season! Not only because they’re slip-on, but also because the dark shades of grey, blue and olive green and the light shades of white, beige and pink on the same fabric make them stand out even more.

Different models

Now we go to those laceless shoes that go a little bit outside the norm of what we usually call slip-ons, and we’re not only referring to the fact that they’re made of other types of fabric, like the previous two. These that we show you next have something special that is even easy to see in the photos. Are you able to guess what it is? See them here!

Well, we told you! So, on the first photograph, we’ve the Tumble Patent Black that, as you may have noticed, they’re made of leather, but not just any leather. It presents a layer of lacquer that gives it that really elegant glow. And since they’re black, you’ll be able to match them with any colour and any style of clothes! It’s fantastic, right?

Lastly, we’ve the ones that seem less like the typical slip-on sneakers. They’re the Gore Studs True White and, as you can see on the next picture, they don’t have elastic accents on the sides. In this case, the elastic are more discreet, since they’re hidden inside holding the tongue. Therefore, at the same time that they adjust to your foot, they keep the tongue in its place. And the metallic studs across the instep give them a metallized touch that is very in fashion right now.
